Comment Moderation

Well Folks, it's finally happened to the Old Indian's little blog. Commenters posing as readers, but as phony as the infamous Non-Professor, Non-Doctor, Non-Indian, political and academic con-man, Ward Churchill, have targeted this little corner of cyberspace for their own hateful uses. This means that, in order to keep clear space for REAL readers, I've had to enable 'comment moderation'. Rest assured that I'll allow ALL genuine reader's comments from any source and in their entirety as I loathe censorship. I DO find some things offensive, but mostly things like hypocrisy, violence, hatred, bigotry, racism, and all the other vile, hurtful things that some among us feel obligated to use to elevate their status in their OWN eyes. Those people feel elevated in status only by putting others down. Why they picked this blog is puzzling, however, from the comments left, I've deduced that racial hatred is a big factor. I feel bad about the moderating, but I feel sorry for those commenters who so loathe themselves that they must deride others.

Just For Fun

One evening last month I was idly poking about in different parts of the Internet when I happened upon some photos of something that evoked old memories of my years in Japan. Manhole covers! Actually, they're not all technically 'man'hole covers as some are quite small. One thing they have in common is that they're just one more place artistic flair can be found in that enigmatic country.

And yes, that last one is exactly what you might think, a fire hydrant access. The Japanese put their fire hook-ups under the pavement. This was done to unclutter the streets and cut costs, despite howls from the 'dog lobby'. Lord help any driver so unwary as to park over one of these as the tow is quick, efficient, and costly. Fire safety is taken very seriously there. Until something resembling actual thoughts enter my head, take care and thanks for stopping by.
