There Oughta Be A Law (REPEALED!!!!)

I really don't want to appear whiny and overwrought about such a simple matter,
BUT......
Since being temporarily visually 'challenged' for the last little while awaiting corrective eye surgery that's been too often delayed, AND a lover & collector of clocks of all sorts, it makes me want to.... .....at least twice a year these days having to adjust them(OKAY!! SOME of them) to reflect the correct(?) time due to what I feel is an outdated and much hated lack of leadership in repealing the laws outlining this fiasco!! WHO CARES one way or the other? Just pick a time, set the damned things, and leave us all the H*ll ALONE!!
Are any of you clowns in D.C. paying attention? HAH! AS IF!! Not without money changing hands!! Until next we meet, take care. I now return ME to my regular winter programming.

At last! I've been waiting for you to post something, Mike. We don't switch times here in Hawaii but we certainly did in Illinois. I liked having more daylight in the evening but the mornings were no fun in the dark. Now I have to remember that there is a 5 hour time difference with Hawaii instead of 4.

I'M with you there, Mike. It's almost as if they're trying to hide the seasons changing.

I'm like, 'Damn, where'd all this snow come from? Isn't it still summer?'. ;)

It don't fool Wally tho. :D

I was just thinking you have not posted in a month. Very good! At one point It may have served a purpose but I do not think so anymore.
Yeah like in your area to harvest potatoes but anyway the excuse is to save money but there is no way it does. It makes no sense! Hope you get your glasses soon!

I hope you are getting that surgery, you have suffered long enough. Time change, oh ya, so confused, I thought it was spring today! Fat chance, snow again tomorrow night.

Oh Yeah, I got up this morning 7:40am & didn't have to be at the fishing show until 10am. So as I'm relaxing with my 1st cup of coffee, I fire up the laptop to check e-mail. The little computer clock says 8:55am. A bowl of cereal, quick shower & out the door. 1" of new snow & streets like hockey rinks, but I walked through the doors at 9:57. Oh Yeah I love daylight savings.

I absolutely DESPISE DST!! I'm with you all the way...set the damn clocks and leave them alone!

I just read an article that said the only one who benefits from the extended DST is the candy manufacturers. It's light later in the evening, so more kids go trick-or-treating thus creating a need for more candy. We have to disrupt our lives so the candy industry can have ONE better day?

I so agree. Leave the time alone! I don't mind it so much in the spring but when we 'fall back' I hate it and just have a heck of a time getting used to it.

Have company this weekend from your town. My sister is here so we're doing all the shopping and stuff that she doesn't do there. I think it would be much cheaper for her if she stayed home but I love her company! :o) I don't know how Jay Mickey D's gets along without her! She's been there forever!

Guy & Kay- I don't care what they do as long as I'm not directly involved in changing stuff.

Tim- We still got loadsa whitish places here.

George- Once showed up VERY early for a 1 hour flight because of the damned change. grrrrrr!

A/Pat & Sandy- Eyesight coming this spring if all goes well.

Wally- We thought YOU had him locked up for runnin' 'shine?

TSHSMom- Keep the candy, lose the timechange. Maybe the birth of a movement?

MidL Mom- Micky D's is our remaining franchise fast food. Subway couldn't compete with the less expensive Mom & Pop sub shops. Mrs likely knows your sister as her sis Sally is a big Micky D fan so she has to take her there often.

We've gotten so we do most shopping via internet in winter. Too much hassle todrive to our niece's place just to shop on these roads.

Many, many moons ago when told the reason for daylight saving time, the great Chief Wild Eagle from the Hekawi tribe replied,

"Old Indian saying, Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of the blanket and have a longer blanket."...

My father, Vice Chief Screaming Chicken of same tribe added, "Is that old man flapping his gums again?"...Pass the beer! :)

I know exactly what you mean esp with working and having to be on time there on over nights. Yikes.. It sucks big time..Thanks for posting and letting us know you are all right.. Now only if we could have several clocks in the house. One set for like fall back and spring ahead then just put those particular clocks away at each time change.. LOL..

Well, I agree with you on this one! I have to get my car manual out twice a year to figure out how to change the car's clock! What a pain!!
