I knew about Peter Graves & James Arness. Did you know that the role of Matt Dillon was offered to John Wayne, who turned it down because he didn't think TV would be as big as the movies.

Yup, and Sinatra turned down 'Dirty Harry' because he thought it'd be a flop. Might have been too, Eastwood made the movie memorable:)
