A Bit Of A Side Trip......

Last week a couple of my friends spent some time in Kalispell, Montana and took a few rides capturing the scenery & critters in & around Glacier National Park. These are some of the photos they took & I thought I'd share them with all who visit here.
The photographers, Linda & George A. The destination.... Yogi's gonna be mad!! The south end of Flathead Lake on the way.... The Two Medicine Trading Post Store (read Gift Shop).
A 'Red Bus' of the propane-fueled fleet operating in the Park daily..... Some of the residents....

Well, not so sure this is a resident. Nice way to tour though. And some fellow travelers..... And of course, the awesome scenery as only Mother Nature can provide..... Thanks to Linda & George for these super views in addition to the others they took that I'll be posting over the next several days. Until next installment, take care & be well.

Just amazing photos! Makes me want to book a trip there right now! Love the picture of the little goat and the chippy! Also amazing how that adult goat can stand right on the side of that rock hill! Looking forward to seeing more of the pictures.

Thanks Mike for posting our pictures, it was a very special weekend trip for us. The Rocky Mountains are a very place on this earth. The pictures don't really do them justice.
Midlife Mom the Mountain Goats have a special hoof that is a hard shell & a spongy center that acts almost like a suction cup. They like high places & get very nervous when you get above them. They consider anything above them as a predator.

Thanks Mike for publishing our photos on your blog. It was an awesome trip. The Going-To-The-Sun road was easily the most senic drive we have ever experienced. This narrow road carved out of rock 75 years ago makes the adventure even more memorable. At times I could literally reach out my window and touch the side of the mountain.
Even though there are many visitors at each stop, there is a quiet, calm feeling shared by most...

I love the photos and maybe I'll change my mind about going east to those big old mountain states. It looks fabulous - the horseback riding through it especially. (If I can survive riding at my advanced age)

Wow! These pictures are just gorgeous! So vivid in color and so well framed! Kudos to the photographer!

And of course, I'd like to repost the little goat picture on my site and mention that I got it from your blog.

Boy do these photos bring back memories. We were there about 12 years ago. Just a gorgeous place, the kind that makes you cry when you have to leave. The waters, the valleys and mountains, trees, fresh air, creatures, and the red buses. Please tell your friends Thank You for letting you share their fantastic photos. Breathtaking!

I wanna go back!!!!

These sure are refreshing photos. I haven't been there before, but I'm missing even my local mountains, that I haven't visited of late. Thanks for sharing the striking views and neat critters.

I LOVE that area of the country! I've been there 3 times myself. Unfortunately, all my pictures from there are on slides.

What beautiful country! I've flown OVER a lot of the US but have never done much land traveling outside of Oregon and Washington. I have been plagued with motion sickness all of my life. My Dear Hubby is flying back to Kansas City on business tomorrow, then driving a new company truck back out here to Portland. He'll be driving thru some of that area and he's told me how beautiful it is in person!! I let my younger brother do the traveling all over the world...I'm content with the amazing photos he takes wherever he goes. I guess the 'wanderlust' gene bypassed me.
