A Bit of History......

This video mostly covers a period over a decade after I left the farm to seek my way in the 'Outside World'. Having been raised by a white family as an adoptee, I still felt the discrimination growing up. Now I'm one of the 'Outside' folks, living "way off the reservation", but I'm still proud to be a member of this unique group of people. The 'old ways' and 'language' are once again being taught to the younger folks in an effort to preserve as much as possible. Until next time, take care and work for peace and acceptance for all the World's Peoples.

Great post, Mike, thanks. It grieves my heart to see how one group of people can have so little empathy for peoples that appear different from them. The Founding Fathers declared that all men are created equal. 'Tis a shame they didn't practice what they preached.

The mantra of 'If you ain't white, you ain't right' has been spread across the entire planet, as witnessed by the Middle-East fiasco.

The Earth is a mighty big place, and even with a booming population, is still big enough to accomodate ALL peoples room to live in peaceful co-existence.

Greed must be put in check, lest we find ourselves on the path of our demise. Can we do it? I seriously doubt it, but I persevere in trying, one person at a time. I discern the Creator smiling down on you, my friend, we must keep hope alive, as hope is really the only thing we have left.

BTW-- Wally is putting up some pics on his 'Soapbox' today, of Roscoe at his construction site of the Bikini Hot Dog Company. ;)

Very good video, Mike.

It took a long time to reach anything near justice, but at least a point that needed recognizing was validated. Maybe the world improves a little, after all.

I wish the tribe well in its efforts to preserve the heritage.

I have been looking around. That is a big house you have there. I hope things are going well with your wifes sister. I watched that video and my favorite book is Bury my Heart at wounded knee!
That video makes me want to explore my own Indian heritage. I have to laugh you mentioned looking like an old Irishman. My fathers family came over on the boat where they met coming from Ireland and England then my Grandfather entered WW1.

This is a good way to give your readers a little insight on your people and the strides they have made....I am glad traditions and language are being passed down to the younger generation. Those are things that can't be taken away from you, only if you let them....Thanks, L
