"if you don't like the weather here, just wait a few minutes..."

Mention snow to most folks, and this is what they associate with the white stuff.

But as the TV tower cam shows, on a clear day you can see the mountains. We're on the extreme right side of them thar hills.

But there's also other images folks around the place have found, such as this...

....and this....

.....and this. All being enjoyed by..........

.......this wise fella, and......

....this handsome Irish wolf-hound/bull-mastiff mix,........

.....and several (???) perching waxwings. But, if you crave.......

.....doing this, or.......

......especially seeing or doing this. I'm afraid that if you live near our place and are staying here for the time being. Then be prepared for more........

.......scenes such as this, starting again tonight. Bundle up & take care.

Thanks Mike, Our weather has settled into a more normal pattern. A little sun, a few early morning clouds & fog, & a little rain or light snow. I love the winter scenes, but don't want to try the swimming hole. Years ago I always went swimming in Lk. Union, in Seattle, as close to my birthday, mid-March, as possible. Now days not so much. Thanks for bringing back memory's.

Me. Here. Right now. said...

Great pictures, Mike. I love the Waxwings - miss them as they don't have 'em out here. And the snow in the stream...brought back a lot of great memories. But, jeez, it must be freakin' freezin'

As I said, wish I was there! It is so pretty, and you can see the snow flakes actually falling. The birds are fantastic, and it just looks like a fairyland place. Don't fancy swimming at Bristol Dam though, I'd give that a miss at the moment. Thanks again for sharing.

Loved the sailing pic. I'm taking a 45 footer over to Mobile, Alabama tomorrow.

Hey! I love the photos, y'old geezer! I too love the Cedar Waxwings. We do have some here out in the country, but not in downtown Astoria.

Keep warm and keep the single malt flowing, my friend.

It's me, it's me, Patricia. I still can't make my google account work. Bummer
Mornin', Mike. Great picures. Really catches some beauties of winter. Love the owl and the little birds, but I think I'd wait a while for the swimming, too.

Oh, such nice photos, Mike. I adore the owl...And the waxwing photo would be wonderful on a wall in anyone's house. Heck, all of the them would be. My favorite is the winding creek with snow covered bank and trees with just a spot of color dripping off a branch, beautiful...The sailboat in the sunset looks vaguely familar:)
Thanks, keep 'em coming...L

Yup, winter isn't over yet. It's already -11F here.

Did you take all those pictures? They're gorgeous!

Glad you folks enjoyed the photos. Sadly, I can't claim any credit for them as they were all either taken by the wife or other people in the area. Except the sailboat, there's not been a scene like that here in many, many, many months.

Enjoyed these photos tremendously! Loved the creek between the snowy banks, the owls, pup, waxwings, and that last blustery scene....brrrr.

Just lovely!

Are you warming up any?

Oh, the snow is beautiful. I'll have to return often and give my rainy Northwest eyes another view.

Thanks for at least trying to find me!
